About Berri Bugs

I started Berribugs over 10 years ago when a friend asked if I could make something for a 'Bug fest' - a small fair held at schools showing off lots of little critters and creepy crawlies for the kids to look at.
After a few nights experiment with my crafts I came up with the first Lady-Birds made from Sculpy/Fimo - a mouldable clay that goes hard when baked.
After stinking the house out from cooking them in the oven, I set up a stall and found my little creations really popular, inspiring me to create lots of different kinds.
Currently I have a long list of things I'm making, not only limited to sculpy. Check out the list here. [Page isn't yet made] :)

What are the bugs made from?
The bugs are made from Sculpy, a coloured, moldable clay. The clay comes in many colours, and is soft enough to be worked by hand yet keep its form, once ready the clay is cooked, hardening it.
Where does the inspiration come from?
I guess it can be traced back to seeing Labyrinth for the first time. When I left school, I wanted to work in Jim Henson's workshop making puppets and scenery.
I have always been arty from a young age; always drawing and making dolls clothes out of toilet roll.
